Major IPs Entering Web3
Winter's Weekly - Week of 28 April 2025
Slew of Major IPs Announce Web3 Projects
As many as 4 mainstream IPs have announced their entry into the web3 space over the last 2 weeks.
Last week, Immutable’s partnership with Ubisoft brought the announcement that the gaming studio would be bringing its beloved 40 year old IP Might and Magic into the web3 space with a new original upcoming TCG called Might and Magic Fates. It was the headline news of the previous issue of this publication and you can head it here.
During that same week, hit TV series Peaky Blinders also announced that it will be adapted into a blockchain-based video game and web3 ecosystem. Banijay Rights, the global distributor of Peaky Blinders, will be working with Anonymous Labs to develop a AAA title that will feature digital collectibles and community engagement mechanisms that will use blockchain technology.
Then this week, news broke that Pokemon HOME will be integrating digital souvenirs called Medals which can be collected and traded. There was a lot of speculation and rumors that Pokemon would be integrating NFTs into their game before the announcement actually dropped. They have, however, been very careful with the wording in their press releases to avoid any use of the words blockchain or crypto. Instead, they simply referred to it as “digital souvenirs”.
And last but certainly not least, Netflix’s most iconic dystopian series Black Mirror dropped the announcement that an official token is coming. The token will power the Black Mirror Experience which involves a Social ID Card that tracks your social and wallet activity to build your reputation score. Building up your reputation gives more access, power, and rewards in the Experience.
This is certainly a positive development, especially with 3 out of the 4 major IPs being involved in the web3 gaming space, which have been going through a sentiment slump in recent months.
Of course, it is still too early to get excited about since it has only been announcements with nothing to show for it yet. However, I do believe in celebrating small wins and the fact that such big global IPs have actually announced their involvement with web3 is definitely cause for a (mini) celebration.

The community have given a lot more feedback after the game re-launched for Season II last week, and the team have been busy squashing any existing bugs that rear their ugly heads.
The season is now in full swing and I’ve been doing my daily dungeon runs to stack those Marks. A word of warning though, if you choose to venture into The Rift, watch out for those nasty enemy skills that can absolutely wreck havoc on your party.
This week, I posted a short clip to show exactly what that means. In the clip, my Citizen, who was placed in the (supposedly) safest middle position, lost half of his HP in a single battle because he was pulled to the front position during the fight.
Check out the clip here and sign up with my ref link to join my clan for Season II!
